PINEHURST — Matthew Reinhardt, M.D., has been named the new medical director of Wound Care & Hyperbarics at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, MRH-Hoke and MRH-Richmond.
Reinhardt joined FirstHealth’s wound care team in 2017 after serving as a specialist in emergency medicine. Dr. Reinhardt received a B.A. degree in history from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, before earning his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Delaware, where he was chief resident during his third year in the program.
“Our wound care team is committed to offering the highest level of care and helping our patients heal chronic wounds,” Reinhardt said. “I’m honored to lead our team and look forward to continuing to serve patients.”
FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics is a member of the Healogics network of more than 600 Wound Care Centers and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds that have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.
Advanced wound care modalities offered at FirstHealth include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
FirstHealth Wound Care & Hyperbarics also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
